eBay is one of the most popular websites that allows you to buy or sell items. There are many reasons why shoppers like to shop at eBay. They like the idea of shopping and surfing through auctions right in the front of their computers, without going anyplace. They enjoy paying using Paypal because it’s quick and safe. Sellers choose eBay simply because they’ll know someone will purchase their items via Paypal as well.
Buying at eBay
If you haven’t used eBay before, and would like to purchase something that’s being sold, the process is generally easy. First you’ll need to come up with your own eBay user name so you can register. You will also need either a credit/debit card or a checking account, because many sellers will prefer Paypal to be your method of payment. Paypal lets you link your credit/debit card or checking account to Paypal, so buying items will be quick and safe.
To look for something you want to buy, type in the item in the search box at eBay’s main page, and then a list of results follows. If you want to do your searching a bit easier and more specific, you can change the listing order. For example, you might want to find the least expensive item possible; you would then arrange the items from less expensive to more expensive. eBay also lets you find your item by location, size, color, and so on.
Once you click on the item, the seller will provide a description about it. That description should include whether the item is new or used, any defects it has, a photo, etc. Also, the auction page will provide ways to pay, refund policies and seller contact information. Be sure to read the description carefully, so you’ll know what to expect when that item arrives to your mailbox. So once you’re ready to buy whatever’s listed, you can do so by clicking Buy Now (if the seller allows it), which takes you to the buying confirmation page. You must to pay for the item after you click Commit to Buy, so you’ll be directed to your Paypal sign-in page, then you can pay for the item from there. After the item arrives and turns out exactly what you expected, you can provide positive feedback to your seller and the person can do the same for you.
If the auction page only requires bidding, you can just click on Place Bid and type the highest price you’re willing to pay. Be aware you might become outbid by some other seller, so you’ll have to keep bidding and bidding until no one else does. Then the item is yours and you’ll need to pay whatever you just bid.
Selling at eBay
To sell at eBay, you’ll need to register and have a Paypal account to pay for selling fees. Then look carefully at whatever you’re selling. Is the product like new? Are there any scratches or tears? You will have to describe in detail as much as possible. Give your auction page a brief but attractive title. Include a picture of your item, because that can get your customers’ attention. And don’t forget about shipping/delivery time methods. You can let your buyers pay for shipping, or you can do so yourself. Finally, review your item description carefully and let your auction go live worldwide.
eBay is a fine website where you can buy or sell things. It’s similar to Amazon, but there will be lots auctions that will make you want to browse for products. Then you can easily pay for them from your own computer or mobile phone.
